Project: Together we create a better world

Objectives:

1. Strengthening and raising awareness of the citizens about the importance of scouting, renewal and revival of the scout squads on the whole territory of R. Macedonia by promoting scouting and the importance of spending more time in nature;

2. To increase the capacities of the scouts non-formal education through developing а scientific-research spirit. The knowledge they would gain from the educational visits of the Farmahems’ Environmental Laboratory, the scouts will be able to apply during games, competitions, camping, winter vocations, summer vocations, orientation, hikes and various researches in nature;

3. To motivate the employees to involve their children in the scout squads that will help this noble movement in R. Macedonia.

Activities:

• Creation of special skill (expertise) which will be called "Scout Scientist" under the patronage of Farmahem;

• Educational visits by scout squads to Farmahems’ Laboratories;

• Including and elaborating the skill "Scout Scientist" in the Scout Handbook of all skills (expertises);

• Cooperation in the formation of new scout squads;

• Promotion of scouting among Farmahems’ employees, associates and partners;

• Mentoring and other forms of cooperation as a review of educational and other materials from scouts, etc.

Results:

So far, three educational visits of scout squads have been realized at Farmahems’ Environmental Laboratory on: 05.04.2017, 20.04.2017 and 23.08.2017. Duration of the visits is one hour. A total of 55 scouts from 12 to 15 years old, in average of 15 scouts per visit, got acquainted with the equipment and experiments in the Environmental Laboratory and conquered the skill (expertise) "Scout Scientist".

The partnership between Farmahem and the Association of Scouts of the Republic of Macedonia is a long-term project that will be developed, upgraded and modified in accordance with the possibilities and needs of the scouts and Farmahem. One or two visits per month are planned, depending on the dynamics of the every day work in the Farmahem's Environmental Laboratory and the gradual development of the cooperation to other segments as well.
